Coupang, Korea’s Answer to Amazon, Raises $2 Billion
November 20th, 2018

The fresh capital, which follows SoftBank Group’s initial investment of $1 billion from June 2015, will be used to bolster Coupang’s technology platforms, allowing for speedier deliveries, an easy one-touch payment system and an artificial intelligence function to assist with purchase recommendations.
 

 


Ride-hailing company Careem secures $200 million in funds from Saudi and Japanese investors

The $200 million was the first close of a funding round in which Careem expects to raise over $500 million, the company said in a statement.
